Vancouver, British Columbia, January 16, 2025 - ZenaTech, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZENA) (FSE: 49Q) announced the completion of its acquisition of Weddle Surveying Inc. Weddle Surveying, located near Portland, Oregon, is a land survey engineering firm with over 200 customers. This acquisition will form the base of ZenaTech's Northwest US Drone as a Service (DaaS) operations. ZenaTech plans to integrate AI drones into Weddle's operations, expanding into wildfire management applications using drone swarm technology.
CEO Shaun Passley stated that this acquisition is a step towards the company's vision for a national DaaS business, involving approximately 20 planned acquisitions. The acquisition is expected to bring in land survey expertise, an established customer base, and revenue. The company aims to apply AI drones and quantum computing to improve applications like wildfire management.
ZenaTech's DaaS model offers a pay-as-you-go service, allowing businesses to utilize drones without the need for hardware, software, or pilot certifications. Drones will provide faster and more precise land surveys compared to traditional methods. ZenaTech also has a joint venture with a Native American company and is collaborating with other organizations to utilize drones for large-scale wildfire management.
ZenaTech is developing Sky Traffic, a project that will use AI drones, quantum computing, and specialized teams for advanced applications such as traffic management, weather forecasting, and wildfire management. The company highlights the synergy of AI drones and quantum computing for efficient fire detection, response, and prevention.
